BEIJING (TDI): China on Thursday issued a strong condemnation of the recent U.S. military strikes on Iranian territory, including the reported bombing of nuclear facilities operating under IAEA safeguards. Terming the action a serious breach of the UN Charter and international law, Beijing warned that the escalation risks further destabilising the already fragile situation in the Middle East.

In a statement issued by the Chinese Foreign Ministry, the government expressed “deep concern” over Washington’s role in the current hostilities and urged restraint from all parties, with particular emphasis on Israel. “The United States’ unilateral use of force undermines global non-proliferation norms and sets a dangerous precedent,” the statement read.
The Chinese government called for an immediate ceasefire, the protection of civilian lives, and the resumption of diplomatic dialogue. “We urge all concerned parties, especially Israel, to exercise restraint, end the hostilities without delay, and return to negotiations,” the statement said.
Reaffirming its commitment to regional peace, Beijing stated that it was prepared to cooperate with the international community in “upholding justice” and pushing for a political solution. It reiterated support for a multilateral process aimed at restoring calm and preventing further escalation.
The latest statement from China comes amid growing global concern over the possibility of a wider regional conflict following Israel’s strike on Iran’s Arak nuclear facility and reciprocal missile attacks. While Washington has not formally confirmed broader plans, reports indicate active military consultations are ongoing.
