China condemn terrorist attack in Kabul

Beijing, 6 September 2022 (TDI): The Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministery of China, Mao Ning shared a statement expressing grief over the lives lost in the terrorist attack near Russian Embassy in Kabul.

On Tuesday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson released a statement condemning the terrorist attack in Kabul and expressing condolences over the death of Russian and Afghan nationals.

Mao Ning said, “We strongly condemn terror attacks against diplomatic missions and their employees. China offers sincere condolences over the death of employees of the Russian embassy in Afghanistan and ordinary Afghans.”

While expressing her condolences to the families who lost their relatives in the terrorist attack, Ning said, “We hope that the Afghan side will take effective counter-measures to ensure the security of diplomatic missions and their employees in Afghanistan.”

Attack near Russian Embassy in Kabul

On Monday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said, “In the morning an unidentified person activated an explosive device near the entrance to the Russian Embassy’s Consular Department in Kabul. Two employees of the Russian diplomatic mission were killed.” In addition, four Afghan nationals were also killed in the terrorist blast.

On the same day, the Afghan interim Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, held a telephone call with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov to express his condolences.

Moreover, after conveying condolences to his Russian counterpart on the death of two employees of the Russian diplomatic mission, Muttaqi assured Lavrov of a “comprehensive investigation.”

Further, Muttaqi added, “The two sides should not allow such negative actions by the enemy to negatively impact the close and positive relations between the two countries.”

The Afghan Foreign Ministery Spokesperson, Abdul Qahar Balkhi said, “The Russian Foreign Minister called this attack the work of international criminal syndicates, emphasizing the need to fight against them.”
