Beijing, 10 January 2022 (TDI): President of China, Xi Jinping called the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two states.
During the phone conversation, President Xi enunciated that China is ready to work with Belarus to take the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, enhance political mutual trust, and push for new results in the China-Belarus comprehensive strategic partnership.
“The two sides have established a comprehensive strategic partnership on the basis of mutual trust and mutual benefit.” – Xi Jinping
He further noted that China-Belarus relations have attained advantageous results in the past 30 years. Efforts from both sides have advanced the Belt and Road Initiative cooperation, as well as the bilateral trade volume between the two nations.
The trade between China and Belarus has increased by 50 times during the past 30 years. Moreover, the two partners ought to boost collaboration in the domain of trade and investment as well as improve cooperation in various other fields.
These include green development and digital economy, sustainable development of the China-Europe Railway Express, and research and development of COVID-19 vaccines.
Talking about the prevalent complex and changing regional and international situation, the Chinese President underscored that Belarus and China have efficaciously collaborated on multilateral occasions.
Moreover, they firmly support each other on issues pertaining to the core interests of the two countries, which signifies the strategic value of the cooperation.
“Under the new circumstances, the two sides should maintain close strategic communication and practice genuine multilateralism, uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core and an international order based on international law, and uphold international fairness and justice,” Xi said.
Talking about the situation in Belarus, Xi Jinping stated that China stands against external forces’ interference in the internal affairs of Belarus. China supports Belarus in seeking a development approach that suits its national conditions.
Besides China and Belarus should adhere to the common values of humanity to guide the global community in establishing a correct view of democracy as well as implementing the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.

The President of Belarus on his part congratulated China on the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and communicated Belarus’ appreciation to China for its moral and political support.
He reiterated that Belarus will maintain close contact and coordination with China. Furthermore, it will take this year’s 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as a prospect to bring bilateral relations to a new level.
