Beijing, 27 November 2021 (TDI): Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the 18th meeting of the Russia-India-China (RIC) Foreign Ministers meeting. On 26 November 2021, the meeting was held virtually.
Wang Yi stated that Russia, India, and China are important regional countries. He said that the three countries have great global influence and represent emerging market economies. The three countries share a mutual interest in promoting peace and stability in the world. He said that the policies and actions of these countries will affect the future of humanity.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry also highlighted the Resolution of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The resolution pointed out that China pays attention to the future of mankind, he added. He said that China is committed to working for the growth and development of mankind in the world.
He expressed the Chinese interest to collaborate with Russia and India to enhance cooperation, openness, mutual trust, and solidarity. China believes in multilateralism and it is ready to work with Russia and India to promote multilateralism and democracy in the world. He stated that the contemporary unprecedented challenges demand the cooperation of the world. China is ready to deal with these unprecedented challenges by cooperating with Russia and India, he added.
Chinese Foreign Minister’s proposal to strengthen cooperation
Chinese Foreign Minister also proposed five suggestions to strengthen the Russia-India-China cooperation. He stressed that the three countries need to practice true multilateralism. The three states should enhance their cooperation in promoting peace and development in the world. They should oppose the unilateral and zero-sum game in the world, he added. He urged to create a new system of international relations based on mutual trust, mutual respect, fairness, justice, and win-win cooperation.
Wang Yi stressed that secondly, they should respect the legitimate rights and interests of the countries. Every country has its own choice for its development, he added. He stated that the “Summit for Democracy” organized by the United States creates standards for democracy and divides the world creating chances of confrontation among the states. He said that a country should practice democracy according to the aspirations of its people. No one should be forced to adopt the democratic structure of other countries. It violated the true principles of democracy.
Thirdly, he stressed that the three countries should strengthen cooperation in the Coronavirus pandemic. There is a high risk of cross-border transmission therefore, the three countries should adopt policies to prevent it. He urged Russia and India to create Vaccine research centers for development and production to help the developing countries in the ongoing pandemic.
Fourth, he stated that they should work on the post-pandemic economic recovery. The lockdowns posed by the Coronavirus affected badly economy of the world. He said that the developed countries should step forward and play an important role in avoiding the spillovers of the pandemic. He hoped that Russia and India will join the Chinese Global Development Initiative.
Fifth, he urged the parties to adopt dialogue in addressing global issues. He said that the United States should play a responsible role in the Humanitarian Crisis of Afghanistan. Chinese Foreign Minister stressed that the world needs to adopt strict policies for counter-terrorism. He also highlighted the need for cooperation in the Iranian Nuclear Deal.
The Russian and Indian Foreign Ministers agreed with the Chinese Foreign Minister to strengthen cooperation in the world. They urged to create a multi-polar world. They agreed to uphold multilateralism in the world.
