Beijing, 2 November 2021 (TDI): China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) held a video conference on the process of reform and development.
On 30 November 2021, China-Arab Research Center on Reform and Development hosted a video conference for experts to discuss the future of reform and development. About 20 countries attended the video conference. Renowned experts, scholars, and think tanks attended the conference from those 20 countries.
China, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, and Palestine were some of the major participants in the conference. The conference was held under the theme of “building a community with a shared future for China and Arab states under the guidance of the Global Development Initiative.”
Conference emphasized expanding cooperation on BRI
The conference discussed two of the important points in strengthening the relations of China-Arab states were “enhancing experience-sharing on state governance to promote the Global Development Initiative” and “pursuing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation to forge a community with a shared future for China and Arab states featuring prosperity and development.”
The experts agreed that China-Arab are facing common challenges therefore the need for cooperation is more than ever. They also agreed that the Global Development Initiative proposed by the Chinese President Xi Jinping will help in sustainable development.
The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation on the Chinese project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Arab states acknowledged that the BRI project will be win-win cooperation for the two sides.
They also discussed the forthcoming China-Arab Summit. They discussed the preparations for the Summit. The two sides emphasized that the coming China-Arab Summit will help to create a shared China-Arab community.
The Chinese experts in the conference shared the experience of the Communist Party of China in modernizing China. The Arab experts appreciated the achievements of China in its development. They also acknowledged the Chinese vision of creating a development path that suits its people and society. The Arab experts also opposed the interference by the Western countries in the internal affairs of any country in the name of human rights and imposing a political system of their own.
China-Arab States Cooperation Forum is a dialogue initiative between China and the members of the Arab League (AL). It aims to strengthen the cooperation of the two sides in the fields of trade, economy, politics, culture, and technology.
