Captains, Squads for Champions One Day Cup Announced

Lahore, 6 September 2024 (TDI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday announced captains and squads for all five teams of the Champions One-Day Cup 2024.

According to a press release, mentors of the five teams: Misbah-ul-Haq (Wolves), Saqlain Mushtaq (Panthers), Sarfaraz Ahmed (Dolphins), Shoaib Malik (Stallions) and Waqar Younis (Lions) appointed captains for their respective teams.

The national team’s Test vice-captain Saud Shakeel will lead the Dolphins. Former Pakistan T20I captain Shaheen Afridi will lead the Lions. Panthers will be led by all-rounder Shadab Khan.

Pakistan Shaheens’ captain Mohammad Haris will lead the Stallions, while the wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan will captain the Wolves.

The top 150 cricket players in the nation will compete in the Champions One-Day Cup. The event is set to take place in a single-league format and is a 50-over competition. All games will start at 3 pm, except the Lions vs. Panthers game on September 16, which will kick off at 9.30 am.

The final is scheduled for Sunday, September 29, after three playoff games spread over four days.
