Chairman Senate Pays Tribute at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow

Moscow (TDI): Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, paid homage at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow during his significant visit to Russia. He laid a floral wreath at the memorial to honor the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during World War II.

Chairman Gillani acknowledged the immense sacrifices of those brave soldiers who laid down their lives in defense of Russia. In keeping with tradition, he observed a moment of silence as a mark of respect for the fallen heroes.

This gesture by the Chairman Senate was deeply appreciated by the Russian people and reflected the strong bond of friendship between Pakistan and Russia.

On his arrival in Moscow, the Chairman Senate was received by the Head of the Group for Cooperation between the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and the Senate of Pakistan, Vladimir Chizhov.

Yesterday, he met the Speaker of the Federation Council, and both dignitaries discussed “the importance of high-level dialogue in fostering mutual understanding and exploring new avenues of cooperation in areas of shared interest, including energy, security, and regional connectivity.”

For the past few weeks, Russia has been officially commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War which the former Soviet Union won against Germany during the World War II.

Putin was joined by twenty nine world leaders, including China’s Xi, on May 9 for the grand Victory Day parade on Red Square.
