Islamabad, 27 October 2023 (TDI): Pakistan Chairman Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, along with Senators Dilawar Khan, Faisal Saleem, and Abdul Qadir, completed a highly productive four-day visit to the People’s Republic of China, on October 26.
Throughout the tour, the Chairman Senate participated in several important events, talks, and meetings that furthered Pakistan and China’s diplomatic and commercial relations.
Important talks between the Chairman Senate and prominent Chinese officials were place during the visit.
Notably, he had meetings with Luo Zhaohui, the Chairman of the CIDCA, Wang Huning, the Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, and other MCC officials.
At the International Symposium in Beijing, Chairman Senate not only served as the Chief Guest but also had a significant role and gave a motivational address.
The 10th anniversary of China’s Neighborhood Diplomacy Principles of Amity, Sincerity, Mutual Benefit, and Inclusiveness was celebrated at this event.
Throughout his remarks, he underlined the need to apply UN Security Council resolutions to the Kashmir and Palestine conflicts.
He praised China for its support of the Palestinian cause and denounced the crimes committed by Israel in Gaza.
In addition, he urged the international community to support an open peace process and an end to hostilities to guarantee the achievement of a two-state solution for Palestine.
The Chairman of the Senate further emphasized the suffering of the Kashmiri people living under Indian domination.
He emphasized the need for a peaceful settlement based on decisions from the UN Security Council that would provide the people of Jammu and Kashmir the right to self-determination.
In his address, he promoted communication over confrontation and urged the world community to accept objective middleman ships and economic collaboration as ways to settle international disputes.
Furthermore, the Chairman Senate emphasized the strategic significance of CPEC as the centerpiece project of the Belt and Road Initiative and expressed thanks to China for inviting the prime minister of Pakistan to the third BRF.
He also urged more Chinese businesses to make investments in Pakistan.
In addition, the Chairman Senate and MCC (China Metallurgical Group Corporation) had a major discussion with the goal of strengthening collaboration in the mineral industry.
Significant progress and commitments to maintain the relationship were made at this summit, highlighting the critical role that mineral resources play in Pakistan’s economic development.
Chairman Senate acknowledged the MCC delegation’s contribution to turning projects into successful ventures and sincerely invited them to visit Pakistan.
During the conference, a novel project in Chagai that operates under an Export Processing Zone (EPZ) was proposed.
This project is expected to have a major impact on Pakistan’s economic development.
The MCC delegation pledged to increase their financial support for the mining industry, with a focus on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan.

Chairman of the Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani made a high-level visit to the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) headquarters in Beijing as part of another significant engagement.
The topics of conversation with CIDCA Chairman Luo Zhaohui were promoting collaboration and deepening bilateral ties between China and Pakistan.
In addition, he conveyed his appreciation to China for its assistance with Pakistan’s growth and talked about their joint construction of the International Parliamentarians Congress (IPC) headquarters in Islamabad.
