Phnom Penh, 22 December 2021 (TDI): The Kingdom of Cambodia reached 7 agreements with Vietnam on Tuesday.

The signing ceremony of the agreements was witnessed by the King of the Kingdom of Cambodia Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Prime Minister Hun Sen was also present in the ceremony when Cambodia signs several documents.

The event took place in Presidency Peace Palace in Phnom Penh following a bilateral meeting between counterparts.

Signed Documents

The two sides managed to sign documents including Cooperation Plans 2022 between the  Ministry of Interior Cambodia and the Ministry of Public Security Vietnam, and between the Ministries of National Defense of both countries.

The other signed documents are as follows:

  • Minutes of the 19th Meeting of the Cambodia-Vietnam Joint Commission on Economic, Cultural, Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
  • Minutes of the Cambodia-Vietnam Joint Border Commission Meeting.
  • Memorandum of Understanding on Education Cooperation 2021-2025.
  • MOU on completion of negotiations on Border Trade Agreement between the Government of Cambodia and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
  • Action Plan for 2022-2023 between the Ministries of Justice of the two nations.

Vietnamese President Phuc is in Phnom Penh since today morning for a two-day state visit. Earlier, the King of Cambodia hosted a welcome ceremony in regard to visiting the state head.

Following Cambodia signs documents, Vietnam’s President will lay wreath at the Independence Monument. He will also visit and lay a basket of flowers to the Monument of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk, the late King-Father of Cambodia “PREAH BOROM RATANAK KAUDH”.

Finally, President Nguyen is also scheduled to receive courtesy calls by Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum.
