London (TDI): Buckingham Palace confirmed on Sunday that US President Trump and First Lady Melania will be hosted by the King and Queen at Windsor Castle from 17 to 19 September 2025.
Earlier in April, President Trump slipped that he believed that was when his second “fest” was being planned, for indicated a three-day visit to the UK.
This will be Trump’s second state visit to the UK after being previously invited to Buckingham Palace in his 2019 visit.
During a meeting this year at the White House in February, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer handed over the letter to the US President from the King inviting him for a visit.
Starmer played up the unusual nature of the repeat invitation, saying, “This has never happened before; this is unprecedented.”
After reading the letter, Trump said that it was a “great great honor”, adding “and that says at Windsor – that’s really something.”

A full program of events has not been disclosed yet, but like all such visits, it will include a full ceremonial welcome and a state banquet in St George’s Hall in Windsor Castle. All senior Royal Family members will be involved, including the Prince and Princess of Wales.
French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife were recently hosted by the King and Queen in the UK last week, which marked the first time a state visit was held at Berkshire residence for more than a decade.
The French President and his wife also took part in a carriage procession through the town of Windsor.
A visit from a US President brings security challenges as well, and Trump’s visit is unlikely to include public events.
During Trump’s 2019 visit, there was no procession along The Mall for security reasons, and Trump was mostly flown between locations instead of traveling by road.
Further details of what will happen during the three-day visit in September will be announced in due course.
