Islamabad (TDI): The British Council has announced the launch of the 12th edition of its Study UK Alumni Awards, inviting applications from Pakistani graduates of UK universities.
The awards, which recognize alumni making outstanding contributions in their fields and communities, are open for submissions until 16 October 2025.
The awards are presented across four categories, Science and Sustainability, Culture, Creativity and Sport, Social Action, and Business and Innovation. Candidates may be recognized at both the national and global level. From among 28 global finalists, four winners will be selected by an international jury.
Those selected will benefit from global visibility, professional networking opportunities, and a special visit to the UK. In Pakistan, a national ceremony will be held to celebrate finalists early next year.

According to the British Council, the Pakistan finalists will be revealed in February 2026, while the global winners will be announced in August 2026 through a dedicated digital campaign.
Last year, the awards drew more than 1,300 applications from alumni representing nearly 100 countries, with Pakistan hosting its national ceremony in Karachi in February 2025.
Speaking about the upcoming edition, Maarya Rehman, Deputy Director of the British Council Pakistan, said the awards showcase the transformative impact of a UK education, “The Study UK Alumni Awards are not only a celebration of individual achievements but also a reflection of how UK education empowers graduates to become changemakers. Alumni are driving innovation, strengthening communities, and creating inclusive futures. Each story highlights the bridge of knowledge and collaboration between the UK and the wider world,” she noted.

The initiative offers winners international exposure through media coverage, expanded professional networks, and direct engagement with UK institutions.
