Islamabad, 17 March 2022 (TDI): China aims to promote common prosperity while resolving the global problems for mutual benefit and a win-win opportunity through Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Mutual collaboration as ventures like BRI, while the world is fighting gigantic challenges, including pandemics and climate change, is the way forward.
These were the voices of the speakers from across the globe speaking during the Webinar on “Common Prosperity for a Shared Future Through BRI hosted by the Friends of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Forum and the Institute of Diplomatic Studies (IPDS).
In her welcome remarks, Ke Ye, the Editor-in-Chief of ‘In Zhejiang’ Global Communication Network, highlighted the platform’s significance by sharing that the aim is to build understanding through dialogue and effective communications through various initiatives.
Huang Yan, the Global Communication Manager at ‘In Zhejiang’ Global Communication Network said that china has favorable conditions for promoting common property as China has endeavored to achieve prosperity through quality development.
Tungamirai Eric Mupona from Zimbabwe, the founder of the Abroad Path Leaders (APL) stated during the webinar that BRI has helped to promote economic prosperity of the countries along the Belt and Road and regional cooperation.
He further highlighted that the investment through BRI involves public-private partnerships and helps curb the income gap and the problems of capitalism.
Professor Dr. Iqbal Chawla, the Director of the Research Society of Pakistan, stated that the connection between Pakistan and China is old because of the Silk Road. Later, the culmination of BRI and CPEC strengthened that longstanding relationship between the two partners.
Dr. Hassan Daud Butt, the CEO of the KPK Board of Investment and Trade of Pakistan, emphasized that the great initiative of BRI is increasingly important amidst the profound changes happening in the political framework when globalization is under a lot of discussion.
He said that globalization is being de-globalized in the backdrop of the latest international changes. BRI is the epitome of inter-regional trade and economic integration.
Professor Jinaghong Shen from the Zhejiang University of Science and Technology said that the BRI is a game-changer and a great innovation that has been supplying so many opportunities for the world since President Xi Jinping announced it in 2013.
Junqi Han, Director at Hangzhou Global Youth Talent Community, underscored that people to people communication is very important, and the BRI is helping to create close linkages between the peoples of the member countries.
A large number of media persons, students, and academicians from different parts of the world attended the webinar. A question-answer session was also held at the end of the webinar.
