Islamabad, 4 July 2022 (TDI): A technical meeting was held between China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO) International delegates and the Board of Investment (BOI) Pakistan.

NORINCO International presented its investment plans in multiple sectors in the country. During the meeting, NORINCO proposed its plans for investing in sectors like Renewable Energy, Optical Fiber, Karachi Circular Railway, Satellite Navigation, and Mining.

While the Special Assistant to Prime Minister entrusted his full support to NORINCO and the Board of Investment (BOI) Pakistan will fully facilitate the investment and ensure engagement with relevant stakeholders, according to an official statement.

The meeting was attended by Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) Jahanzeb Khan and Secretary BOI Asad Rehman Khan.

Asim Ayub, Project Director- China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Industrial Cooperation Development Project (CPEC-ICDP) and Secretary Pakistan Railways Zafar Zaman Ranjha, and Chairman, National Telecommunication Corporation Miraj Gul, were also present at the meeting.

Previously, On 30 June, NORINCO International’s Vice President met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Shareef and this was a follow-up to the meeting held on June 30.

NORINCO International is a Chinese construction engineering company that has been working in Pakistan since the 1980s.

The Chinese construction engineering company has successfully completed the orange line project which has been operating since October 2020

Moreover, NORINCO International is a member of the Pakistan China Business & Investment Forum (PCBIF).

Upon becoming a member of PCBIF, it offered help in reinvesting in Pakistan in multiple sectors like Solar & Wind Energy, Transport, IT & Mining, etc.

Board of Investment (BOI) Pakistan also facilitated NORINCO’s meeting with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Similarly, it is now coordinating NORINCO’s investment endeavors across different ministries and departments in Pakistan.

In this regard, BOI has offered to extend its full support to the group & would be ensuring its matchmaking at both the Private & Public levels.
