ISLAMABAD (TDI): The United States (US) government has reiterated its commitment to providing military support to Israel as tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border escalate.
This backing also led to killing of thousands of innocent Palestinians for over an year now.
The Biden administration said that there would be no change in policy towards Israel.
Ongoing bombing and shelling across the Blue Line have resulted in increasing civilian casualties, prompting concern from various lawmakers and human rights organizations.
US Affirms Support For Israel
During a recent press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre emphasized the U.S. stance, declaring it “ironclad” in support of Israel’s right to defend itself against threats from Hezbollah.

As well as other Iran-backed forces in Lebanon. Despite the intensifying conflict, Jean-Pierre confirmed there are no plans to halt arms shipments to Israel.
As the violence continues, the US is actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
Jean-Pierre outlined ongoing discussions with key regional players, including Egypt and Qatar, aimed at brokering a ceasefire and facilitating the release of hostages.

“We are deliberating with Egypt, Qatar, and Israel to attain a ceasefire deal,” she stated. “It is urgent, and we believe it will decrease tension and support displaced civilians to return to their homes.”
