Tashkent, 30 December 2022 (TDI): Bakhtiyor Saidov will be replacing Vladimir Norov, the country’s current Foreign Minister. The decision has been made by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan.

This decision comes after Vladimir Norov has been transferred to another position. Reportedly, Bakhtiyor Saidov will serve as the interim Foreign Minister.

Previously, he held the position of Public Education Minister for Uzbekistan. He has also served as Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to China.

It is pertinent to note that Vladimir Norov was appointed as acting Foreign Minister in April 2022. He received approval for the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs in early September.

Bakhtiyor Odilovich Saidov was born in 1981 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. He is an Uzbek economist and diplomat as well as an Ambassador and politician.

He received the Order of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s Friendship Award in 2018 as well as an honorary professorship at the Chinese University of Tszyansi in 2020.
