Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister met new UN Resident Coordinator

Baku, 3 August 2021 (TDI): On Monday, Jeyhun Bayramov,  Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, welcomed Vladanka Andreeva, the new UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan. Andreeva handed over a copy of the appointment letter to the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan.

Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated the new UN Resident Coordinator on her appointment and wished her good luck.

The Minister stated that Andreeva’s experience will help to boost Azerbaijan’s collaboration with the UN. Andreeva showed confidence that the collaboration of Azerbaijan with the UN will be maintained. She further stated that the UN will support Azerbaijan in building a better future, despite the country’s struggle with the Covid-19 pandemic and the post-conflict recovery process.

The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan also spoke about Armenia’s continued military operations.

The UN Resident Coordinator informed about the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, guaranteeing that UN Security Council resolutions will be followed. The Minister also discussed the cooperation of Azerbaijan with UN specialized organizations such as UNESCO and UNHCR.

Both parties also addressed the reconstruction and restoration of liberated areas and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
