Baku, July 6 2023 (TDI): Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Sergey Aleynik.

Foreign Minister Aleynik officially visited Azerbaijan to participate in the Ministers of the Coordination Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement meeting.

During the meeting, strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields was discussed on existing bilateral and multilateral platforms.

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated his Belarusian counterpart on his appointment to the ministerial position. Also, he submitted that there are effective contacts and cooperation between the two countries at all levels.

Bayramov further pointed out that there are effective contacts between the two countries that take into account each other’s interests on both bilateral and multilateral levels.

Reciprocally, Minister Sergey Aleynik noted with satisfaction that the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus was celebrated with some prestigious events.

Additionally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus said that there are extensive historical cooperation relations between the countries in agriculture, tourism, machine building, and other fields.

A protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus was signed on the 11th of June 1993.

Since then, the two countries have been making contacts and have maintained a strategic partnership that is anticipated to bring mutual benefits.

For example, Azerbaijan exports goods such as petroleum products, tobacco, chemical products, fruit juices, polyethylene, bentonite clay, chocolate, and chocolate products etc to Belarus.

On the other hand, Azerbaijan imports tractors, spare parts of drilling machines, wood and wood materials, medical equipment, electric wires, and food and agricultural products from Belarus.

Conclusively, other issues of mutual interest were exchanged during the meeting between the two countries foreign ministers.
