Azerbaijan Seeks to Invest in Motorways

Baku (TDI): Azerbaijan has expressed its interest in investing in Pakistan.

An Azerbaijani delegation will visit Pakistan next month to review the feasibility and investment opportunities. They are particularly seeking investment opportunities in Motorways M-6 and M-9 Sukkur, Hyderabad, and Karachi projects.

This was revealed during a delegation-level meeting between the two countries in Baku.

Minister for Communications and Board of Investment Abdul Aleem Khan led the Pakistani delegation while the Azerbaijani side was led by Minister for Digital Development & Transport Rashad Nabiyev.

The two sides also discussed the possibilities for Business-to-Business and Government-to-Government collaboration for the construction of highways.

On the occasion, Minister Aleem Khan stressed improving the transportation means from Pakistan to Central Asian countries, and sought Azerbaijan’s help in this regard.

Azerbaijani Minister Rashad Nabiyev welcomed the idea. He stated that his country was looking to further improve the bilateral cooperation in trade and investment.

The meeting also discussed matters of mutual investment between the two countries under the Public-Private Partnership.
