Brunei: August 04, 2021- (TDI): The Foreign Minister of Brunei Erywan Yusof is appointed as the ASEAN Special Envoy on Myanmar. The ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria welcomed the appointment of Erywan Yousaf.
The MFA Austria took to Twitter and shared that it’s an important step in reaching a peaceful solution. Moreover, a constructive dialogue with all the key stakeholders is needed to bring the country back on its democratic path.
France also welcomed the appointment of the special envoy to Myanmar by the Foreign Ministers of ASEAN. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France stated that it is a meaningful step towards the implementation of the consensus reached at the Jakarta Summit on April 24 which was aimed at putting an end to the violence, working towards a peaceful solution in the best interests of Myanmar.
