Lahore, 9 November 2021 (TDI): The Australian High Commission and Kinnaird College for Women, Pakistan, collaborated to host the Girls’ Cricket Cup 2021. The event was organized in Lahore, with the support of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

3rd Girls’ Cricket Cup

Teams from four schools are participating in The 3rd Girls’ Cricket Cup involved; Government Higher Secondary School Umer Block Iqbal Town, Government Central Model School Gulberg lll, Government Junior Model School Samnabad, and girls from underprivileged backgrounds at the Kinnaird Academy. The participating players went through a three-day coaching clinic as preparation, under the supervision of the best PCB Coaches.

Speaking at the occasion, Australia’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Dr. Geoffrey Shaw he underscored the significance of sports. Sport challenges stereotypes by empowering the girls who choose to play. It helps tear down obstacles by providing opportunities to the players; to professionally compete in the field.
