Canberra, 19 November 2021 (TDI): Australia joined the UK along with the countries of the world in condemning sexual violence as a weapon of war.
Australia, the UK, and other 7 nations have shown agreement to produce a stronger International response to the sexual violence in conflict. More often than not, it is used as a weapon in war.
Australia will jointly collaborate through ASEAN and United Nations forum
Australia is jointly collaborating through ASEAN and United Nations forums for securing justice and ensuring security for the survivors and victims in Ethiopia, Afghanistan, and Myanmar.
The South Pacific country is likewise committed to ending the culture of silence when the victims don’t speak. Australia also praised the work of the UN special representative for sexual violence in the conflict.
The ventures like women’s global facility and women’s peace and the humanitarian fund by Australia are also laudable. They are committed to the implementation of the National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and security 2021-2031.
Earlier this year, Australia had faced demonstrations and protests in the streets of more than 40 cities of the country. The marchers were demanding the rights of women against sexual crimes in Australia.

By sharing the Press Release she declared that Australia is committed to working with the UN and ASEAN to secure justice for war victims across the world. She also told that Australia shared $44 million to address urgent unmet needs across 22 countries of the world.
