On Friday, July 30, 2021, Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, Asad Qaiser along with his delegation met with Azerbaijani Minister of Defence Industry and Co-Chairman of Azerbaijan-Pakistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission, Madat Guliyev, on his official visit to Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, bilateral ties, as well as topics of mutual interest, were discussed in a friendly atmosphere. Madat Guliyev was briefed by the Speaker about his recent trip to the recently liberated territories, notably Shusha. Also, the Speaker informed the Minister about the deteriorating situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) and thanked Azerbaijan for its continuous and vocal support to the cause of J&K at all international forums. On his part, the Minister of Defence Industry conveyed gratitude to the government and the people of Pakistan for their unequivocal support to Azerbaijan in its struggle during the 44 days Karabakh War.
Both sides lauded the strong cooperation of the brotherly nations of Azerbaijan and Pakistan in the field of defence.
