Mogadishu, 2 December 2021 (TDI): The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has handed over a newly built Police Station at Kismayo seaport, Somalia. Moreover, AMISOM also installed Solar and Water projects at Dalhiska Police Station in Jubaland State.

The inauguration event was held in the administrative capital of Jubaland State. Security officials of Jubaland and AMISOM officials attended the event. Besides, Projects aim to enhance policing in the state.
Head of AMISOM on the Inauguration Ceremony
Head of AMISOM, Ambassador Francisco Madeira, attended the inauguration ceremony of the newly built police station and other projects in Jubaland state, Somalia.
While speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Madeira said, “We, as AMISOM, are here with a very clear mandate to work with Somalia for Somalia, and specifically in Jubaland State, to work with Jubaland people and Jubaland authorities for the good of Jubaland communities. You do not have to look at us in a special manner. We are part of you; we are here for you.”
Police Station Benefits
AMISOM new police station and up-gradation of police stations will help security forces and police to ensure the security of citizens, property and maintain the law & order situation in the country.
Jubaland Security Minister General Yussuf Hussein Dhumal noted that “the new projects implemented by AMISOM were timely and will greatly enhance policing activities and the maintenance of law and order in the region”.
Likewise, new Police Station will provide new office space for the police department. It will contribute to police efficiency. Also, improvement at Dalhiska Police Station will improve working conditions and decrease expenditure through the environment and cost-friendly projects.
Besides, this will improve police service delivery to the citizens. In-Toto, policing will boost stability and security in Somalia.
