Mexico City, 18 January 2022(TDI): Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) have a joint effort for the project of Sowing opportunities in different parts of America.
In particular, the project will be reaching different countries of Central America such as El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.
Mexico Initiative
AMEXCID is the organization in charge of the project “Sowing opportunities” and another project name the Youth building the future of Central America. These initiatives have supported tens of thousands of vulnerable people in El Salvador and Honduras since the beginning of the current government.
The arrival of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador at the Presidency also meant the start of a new way of executing initiatives. President Obrador brought with him the execution of a project of this scale. The innovation of its direction toward third-world countries. It involves the direct delivery of resources to vulnerable populations, understanding and designing public policies for international cooperation.
Currently, AMEXCID is developing opportunities for synergy and cooperation with various actors, that the United States Agency for International Development(USAID).
The initiatives enabled a new level of rapprochement and dialogue between the agencies e that it concerns. For instance, the projects to support small farmers and young people have achieved in El Salvador and Honduras are projects made by the USAID and AMEXCID.
To arrive at the result, there has been a series of visits and high-level meetings between the Agencies, intending to identify areas of opportunities. Additionally, technical teams gave feedback to the US counterpart about the progress of the projects in El Salvador and Honduras.
What is The Sowing Opportunities project?
Sowing opportunities represent the mutual interest of the US and Mexico to foster more inclusive and sustainable development in Central America.
It focuses on dealing with structural causes of migration that president Obrador of Mexico and counterpart Joe Biden of the US talked about in the North American leader’s summit.
To conclude, USAID and AMEXCID union in the project is to help the population of Central America build a prosperous region and live comfortably
