Pakistan-US relations:
Pakistan-U.S. relations date back to the foundation of Pakistan in 1947. The founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, received a congratulations letter from President Harry Truman in the first high-level communication between the two nations on Pakistan’s “emergence among the family of nations.”
Formal diplomatic relations between Pakistan were established on August 15, 1947.
In the 70 years since that historic day, Pakistan and the United States have developed a multidimensional and wide-ranging relationship, fueled by collaboration in fields ranging from education to energy, defense to trade, and investment.
This collaboration is founded on shared values and a common interest in regional and strategic issues.
This year, the two countries are celebrating 75 years of diplomatic ties.
