Ambassador of Tunisia visits Riyadh

Riyadh, 7 October 2021 (TDI): Deputy Minister for Public Diplomacy Mr. Fahad Abualnasr, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia, Mr. Hichem Fourati.

Both nations have a longstanding good relationship. In an interview with Tunisian state television, Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman referred to their relations as “very old” and reaffirmed his role to maintain this relationship.

Political spirits in Tunisia have long influenced the country’s diplomatic exchange with Riyadh. Riyadh and Tunisia summarized their diplomatic relations in 2003.

After years, since the 2011 “Arab Spring” uprising, which unseated several entrenched rulers in the region and triggered turmoil, Tunisia has undergone a democratic transition. The Kingdom’s expressed its satisfaction with the progress of the country. 

Today, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and discussed topics of common concern. Saudi Arabia has met with two North African countries this week, this visit was followed by the meeting with Egypt.
