Minsk, 22 February 2022 (TDI):  Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus visited the Belarusian National Exhibition Center “BelExpo”, today.

Whilst there, Ambassador Sajjad met with Siarhei Baran, the Director of BelExpo. The Head of the Fair and Exhibition Department, Victoria Agafonova as well as the Project Manager, Marina Prozorova were also present at the meeting.

Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan was briefed about the National Exhibition center during the meeting. He was told that Belexpo has been the biggest specialized exhibition company for more than 20 years.

It has been organizing as well as holding international business events and exhibitions. These include “Milex”, “Prodexpo”, “Leisure” and “BelTexExpo”. Pakistan’s Ambassador lauded the expanding bilateral ties between Pakistan and Belarus.

He articulated his interlocutor regarding Pakistan’s export commodities along with conveying the interest of Pakistani enterprises to ensure their imprints in the market of Belarus via participation in the pertinent exhibits.

Pakistan-Belarus Ties

Pakistan and Belarus enjoy close and cordial ties that were established on February 3, 1994. The two allies celebrated the 25th Anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2019.

Belarusian-Pakistani relations gained impetus after the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in 2014. Both countries are closely collaborating in the global arena to address issues related to the global and regional agenda for mutual interest.

A permanent mechanism of political consultations functions between the respective Foreign Ministries. So far, five rounds of political consultations have taken place between the respective Foreign Ministries at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers.
