Miarinarivo, 6 October 2021 (TDI): Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Madagascar and Comoros, Higuchi Yoshihiro participated in the second JIR (Journées internationales des Régions or the second International Days of the Regions) in Itasy.
The Itasy Region in the Republic of Madagascar is famous for its agriculture, aquaculture, and impressive tourism spots. This event aimed to engage and attract the world community towards the natural beauty and well-diverse culture of the Republic of Madagascar.

This year the theme of the event was, ” Itasy, the heart of Madagascar, open to the world for the emergence of future generations.” Through this event, the Government of Madagascar wants to portray a peaceful image of the republic and desires to attract foreign engagement in the region for the development and better future of the coming generations of Madagascar.
The Ambassador of Japan participated in the event and appreciated the region’s natural beauty and natural resources. Japan and Madagascar share friendly relations, and with these events, both countries’ governments want to further enhance their friendly ties.
