Sri Lankan Foreign Minister meets Saudi Arabian Ambassador

Colombo, 6 October 2021(TDI): Sri Lankan Foreign Minister, Gamini Lakshman Peiris warmly greeted the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Sri Lanka, Abdul Nasser at his Foreign Ministry. Tharaka Balasuriya, State Minister of Regional Cooperation also attended the meeting.

The Foreign Minister extended his appreciation for the forest report that Saudi Arabia provided to different International fora.

The bilateral ties are based on the principles of mutual respect, corporation, and long-lasting present relations. The Foreign Minister appreciated the Saudi Arabian government for the help they provided to Sri Lankan migrant workers during the early stages of the global pandemic.

The Saudi Ambassador emphasized that Saudi Arabia would likely continue to strengthen the bilateral relationship with Sri Lanka and look forward to expanding relations on the areas of common interest in the future as well.
