Islamabad, 12 May 2022 (TDI): The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov met with Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf, on the eve of three decades of the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
The agenda of the meeting was evaluating bilateral relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. Enhancing Parliament-to-Parliament connections, according to the Speaker, will elevate existing bilateral relations to new heights.

Raja Pervez Ashraf stated that the Pakistani Parliamentary delegation would take part in the PAECO debate in Baku this month. He stated that Azerbaijan plays a significant role in the Economic Cooperation Organization’s Parliamentary Association.
The Speaker reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent stance on the subject of Nagorno-Karabakh, saying that Pakistan has always supported and would continue to support Azerbaijan’s right to self-determination.
Pakistan and Azerbaijan are linked in common socio-cultural values and mutual interests, according to National Assembly Speaker, Raja Pervez Ashraf.
He also stated that the inhabitants of the Subcontinent, particularly Pakistanis, had a special spiritual bond with all of Central Asia, including Azerbaijan.

He suggested that both nations strengthen their connections by strengthening energy and commercial cooperation. Raja Pervez Ashraf advocated ways to realize the benefits of the great potential in the tourist sector for mutual gain.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov acknowledged his appreciation for Pakistan’s help in the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute with Armenia.
He reaffirmed his country’s commitment to Pakistan’s principled position on the Kashmir issue. He stated that Azerbaijani investors will be eager to participate in Pakistan’s economic activities.
Moreover, he also added that both nations have enormous tourist potential and that both may gain socioeconomically by investigating tourism options.
Along these lines, he stated that the visa process for Azerbaijan has been simplified, adding that Pakistani citizens may now obtain a visa in less than an hour.
Likewise, direct flights will be established between the two countries. He stated that the Parliamentary leadership of Azerbaijan was looking forward to Speaker of the National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf’s arrival in Baku.
The Speaker will be visiting Baku to attend the Parliamentary Assembly Of Economic Cooperation Organization PAECO session.
