Beijing, 12 August 2021 (TDI): Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Moin-ul- Haque visited the head office of Habib Bank Limited in Beijing. Ambassador Moin was accompanied by representatives from the embassy. He was given a tour of the building and was briefed about the recent initiatives of the bank.
HBL is the leading Bank of Pakistan which is involved in multiple CPEC projects and BRI initiatives. HBL opened two branches in China, one in 2019 and the second in 2021.
Amb. Moin while visiting the branch appreciated the increasing involvement of HBL in the Chinese market. Moin mentioned that HBL’s involvement in the Chinese economic sector will definitely boost up the economic ties between China and Pakistan.
Moin, while underlining the increased economic and trade cooperation between the two states, since the enactment of CPFTA ( China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement) and inauguration of the 2nd phase of CPEC, plead HBL for continuing to play its role in inflating the e-commerce market between China and Pakistan.
Moin showed confidence in HBL and mentioned that the presence of HBL in China will be a key to boost the economic relations between the two states.
