Beijing (TDI): Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal called on Zhao Chenxin, Vice Chairman of China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), in Beijing to discuss the implementation and future direction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The two officials engaged in in-depth discussions, restating their commitment to advancing CPEC initiatives within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Both sides agreed that “CPEC 2.0” will mark a more advanced phase of cooperation, building on the achievements of CPEC 1.0.
Ahsan Iqbal emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to deepening ties with China through CPEC and welcomed the expansion of cooperation in areas such as industrial development, agriculture, and technological innovation.
Vice Chairman Zhao Chenxin acknowledged the significance of Pakistan-China ties and expressed Beijing’s esire to deepen its partnership with Islamabad.

He stressed that CPEC 2.0 would not only boost economic connectivity but also contribute to sustainable development in both countries.
