Beijing, 2 September 2021 (TDI): Today, the Chinese Vice Primer had an online meeting with US climate envoy John Kerry. Both countries being top economies, emphasized their greater role in fighting climate change. They further noted that their role is paramount in coping with burgeoning climate disasters. Beijing and Washington realized their responsibility for half of global greenhouse gas emissions.
On Wednesday, Wang Yi, the Chinese Foreign Minister, had a virtual meeting with John Kerry. Wang Yi said that cooperation between the two countries on climate change is a reflection of overall Sino-US relations. He urged the US to take effective measurements to enhance and normalize Sino-US relations. The Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs expects that both countries will have broader talks on overall bilateral relations.
