Tashkent, (TDI): Sheikh Abdul Ghaffar Bahr, the newly appointed Ambassador of Afghanistan to Uzbekistan, has arrived in the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan confirmed his arrival, marking a significant step in the Islamic Emirate’s diplomatic relations with its northern neighbor.
Sheikh Bahr, a senior official in Afghanistan, will soon begin his official responsibilities in Tashkent.
His appointment comes as part of Afghanistan’s efforts to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties with Uzbekistan, a key regional partner.
The two countries share a long history of trade and cultural exchange, and Tashkent has maintained diplomatic communication with the Islamic Emirate since its return to power in Afghanistan in 2021.
Continuing Diplomatic Engagement
The arrival of the ambassador highlights the continuing diplomatic engagement between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, especially in areas of mutual concern such as regional security, trade, and economic development.
