Prof. Hina Explains Musts for Fashion & Design Industry

Islamabad (TDI): The development of a “Design Center Concept” aimed at promoting Pakistan’s fashion and design industry was discussed during a meeting between Jam Kamal Khan, the Federal Minister for Commerce, and Prof. Hina Tayyaba, the Vice Chancellor of the Pakistan Institute of Fashion & Design.

The final objective of the meeting was to promote exports and gain access to other markets, and the discussion centered on how this idea may support chances in education, research, and development within the fashion industry.

As Prof. Hina Tayyaba clarified, the idea was influenced by globally renowned design hubs in the United States (Miami), Australia, the United Kingdom, China, and Spain.

She stressed that the establishment of a center of this kind in Pakistan will greatly boost the industry’s potential, particularly in higher education and research, thereby boosting the nation’s competitiveness in the global arena.

At the upcoming Export Development Fund (EDF) board meeting, Minister Jam Kamal Khan promised to further examine the notion after approving the request for submission.

Furthermore, he encouraged more fashion-related initiatives for the next EDF meeting and guaranteed full assistance from the Ministry of Commerce.
