Dar Pays Respects at Roza-e-Rasool (SAW)

Madina, 7 August 2024 (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar paid respects at the Roza-e-Rasool (SAW) in Madina.

He also paid homage to the Shuhada-e- Uhud at Jabal-e-Uhud, Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, in a post, on social media platform X.

Dar offered Zuhar and Asar prayers in the holy city of Madinah on Tuesday.

Earlier, the deputy prime minister and foreign minister arrived in Saudi Arabia to participate in the Extraordinary Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Executive Committee being held on Wednesday (today).

At the Madinah airport, he was received by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq and Director General of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs Madinah Branch Ibrahim bin Muhammad Saeed Alsobhi.

OIC Extraordinary Meeting

The Extraordinary Meeting of the OIC Executive Committee is being convened at the request of Palestine and Iran to discuss the ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestinans and other regional countries.

As one of the staunchest supporters of the Palestinian cause, Islamabad has always been at the forefront in raising its voice at all global fora, including the OIC,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

At the meeting, Ishaq Dar would present Pakistan’s serious concerns about the dire situation in Gaza and the wider Middle East region.

The statement said that Dar will stress on the urgency of peace and provision of relief assistance to the people of Gaza.

On the sidelines, he will hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other OIC member countries, it added.
