70th anniversary commemorative coin launched

June 11, 2021:  In continuation of celebrations of the 70 years of strong diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China, the State Bank of Pakistan launched a commemorative coin of 70 Rs. The coin was launched in an event held at SBP’s Islamabad office. Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong, and Governor SBP Dr. Reza Baqir were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Nong Rong sadi that this is a great moment of togetherness. He said that the Pakitan-China friendship is a valuable “strategic asset” for the two countries.

He further added that despite international challenges, the friendship remained rock solid. CPEC is a manifestation of our strong partnership and togetherness in all areas. He said that both the government and people of China love Pakistani brothers and wish to see the country making progress in every sphere of life.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor SBP Dr. Reza Baqir termed it a great honor for the State Bank of Pakistan and said this step will further strengthen Pakistan-China diplomatic relations. He further said that this is a great honor for the State Bank to contribute towards the 70 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood said that the friendship between Pakistan and China is a role model for the rest of the world. He further said that Pakistan and China stood together in every thick and thin.

This year Pakistan and China are celebrating 70 years of diplomatic ties.

Both countries are celebrating this special occasion with series of events.
