61st Independence Day of Gabon

Gabon, 18 August 2021 (TDI): August 17 is marked as the national day or Independence day of Gabon. This day is observed to celebrate Gabon and commemorates its full independence from France in 1960.

The Gabonese Republic is located on the West Coast of Africa. Libreville is the largest city and the capital of the Gabonese Republic. The national flag includes three horizontal bands of green, gold, and blue. Gabon’s National anthem is La Concorde.

According to UN data, the current estimated population of Gabon is 2.2 million. The religions in Gabon are Christian 82 %, and Islam 9.8 %. The official language is French.
