Iran: June 29, 2021- (TDI): It’s the almost 34th anniversary of the Saddam Hussein regime carried out a chemical attack on the city of Sardasht.
The foreign minister of Iran Dr. Zarif in his message marked the 34th anniversary of this chemical attack on Sardasht and this day is also marked as the National Day of the fight against Chemical and Biological weapons. Dr. Zarif said that he honored the memory of those who lost their lives in the tragedy.
Subsequently, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons was formed with its 193 member states and promotes and verifies the adherence to the chemical weapons convention, which prohibits the use of chemical weapons and requires their destruction.
