GIZ Director inaugurates hall for refugee training and helpline

Islamabad, June 28, 2021 (TDI) — GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Zusammenarbeit) Pakistan’s Director Tobias Becker has launched a conference hall at the Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees for the purpose of training for Afghan Refugees as well as indigenous communities in KPK. Along with this, they will also provide a helpline facility to provide support and guidance to the refugees and the hosting people. Marion Pfennings, the Youth ambassador for the German Embassy Islamabad was also in attendance.
The joint venture of the German and Pakistani organization is dedicated to SDG’s and social protection. There are almost 1.4 million Afghan refugees in Pakistan facing a myriad of problems according to UNHRC. Issues related to social integration, health, and education are all solved through either a phone call or in person. Besides, this initiative can help the Pakistani Government shape a proper policy for the Afghan refugees in the future.
