Minsk, 3 July 2021 (TDI): July 3 marked as the independence day of Belarus. Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zahid Hafeez Chaudri and Pakistan Embassy Belarus extends warm congratulations to the Belarusian people and government.

Pakistan established its diplomatic relations with Belarus in 1994 and opened its mission in Minsk in 2015. Both countries cooperate on trade, investment, agriculture, livestock, education, Science and technology, health and pharmaceutical and culture, etc. The bilateral trade between both countries includes the sectors of cereals, Textiles, Fruits vegetables, pharmaceutical, tractors, machinery, etc.

Before 1996 Belarus celebrated its independence on July 27. As on this day back in 1991, Belarus declared sovereignty from the Soviet Union. Later through a referendum changed to July 3. This day is historic as back in 1944 Red Army liberated the country from Nazi occupation. This day is also known as the Day of Republic.

The Republic of Belarus is located in the center of Europe, is part of Eastern Europe. It is crossed by major transit routes of the entire continent, including one of Eurasia’s main transport corridors from southwest to northeast. The shortest transport links connecting the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea also run through Belarus’ territory.
