Beijing (TDI): Pakistan’s Embassy in Beijing hosted the 2nd Pakistan Professionals & Students Forum, on Saturday April 12. The launch of a Mentorship Program was the highlight of the event.
Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Tariq Fatemi, participated in the Forum via video links, while Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, delivered opening remarks.
A great number of students and professionals studying and working in China participated in the Forum, which was designed to serve as a networking platform for Pakistan’s academic community in China.

Ambassador Hashmi, in his opening remarks, observed that a culture of mentorship benefits and guides young aspirants in the right direction, adding that experience must always compliment enthusiasm and ambition via a healthy culture of mentorship.
The Embassy launched Mentorship Program to connect seasoned professionals with younger Pakistanis across China.
“A community-led initiative to foster guidance, aspiration, and intergenerational support,” Khalil Hashmi wrote about the Program on X.
He recognized the Forum as essential for Pakistan’s evolving identity and image inside China, while recounting the progress that has been made since the last and first edition of the Professionals and Students Forum.

Two important panel discussions were organized as part of the Forum titled Emerging Employment Opportunities Under CPEC 2.0 and Connecting Professionals with Students: Creating Dynamic Ecosystems for Professional and Personal Growth.
Minister Ahsan Iqbal appreciated the efforts of the Embassy in looking out for the Pakistani community in China. He thanked the Pakistani students, academics, entrepreneurs, and professionals for being an invaluable asset of the country.
SAPM Fatemi acknowledge the Mentorship Program as a visionary initiative. He highlighted various national-level initiatives of the Government which have been designed especially for young people.
A considerable number of Pakistani students are pursuing their higher studies in China. Over the years, the country has become a favored destination for Pakistani students and professionals alike.
