Nanning, 11 September 2021 (TDI): The 18th China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit commenced on Friday in Nanning, capital of south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The theme of this year’s expo is, “Sharing opportunities created by the new land-sea corridor, building the China-ASEAN community with a shared future.”
Moreover, this expo anticipates the deepening of ties and cooperation in trade, economy, and other fields. This event is occurring both online and offline and has lured a number of enterprises from more than 40 countries and regions.
The Chinese Vice President (VP) Wang Qishan notes, while addressing the ceremony, that the China-ASEAN Expo platform is deepening practical cooperation and advance China-ASEAN community building with a common future. China is ready to work with ASEAN to promote high-level strategic partnership with ASEAN development strategy, enhance economic and trade cooperation, and promote regional connectivity and economic integration.
Simultaneously, the Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Ismail Sabri Yaakob participated through a video link and said that China and ASEAN should further encourage open trade and investment to foster the region’s rescue from the inflictions of COVID-19.
