Beijing, 13 January 2021 (TDI): Ministry of National Defense of China stated on Thursday that the 14th Round of the China-India Corps Commander-Level Meeting was held. It was held on the Chinese side of the Moldo-Chushul border meeting point on Wednesday.

The 13th round of talks took place in the month of October last year. According to the statement of China’s Ministry of National Defense, representatives from the foreign affairs and defense establishments of India and China participated in the meeting.

Reportedly, both parties had an in-depth and open discussion on the resolution of issues pertaining to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Western Sector of the border areas between India and China.

The representative from both sides agreed to adopt effectual efforts so as to preserve the on-ground security and stability in the Western Sector, during the winter season as well as otherwise.

The two sides acquiesced to maintain close contact along with maintaining dialogue through diplomatic and military channels. They agreed that the two stakeholders will work out a mutually acceptable resolution of the remaining issues at the earliest.

In addition, the two sides also acquiesced to hold the next round of Corps Commander-Level Meeting as soon as possible.

In the earlier version of a dialogue i.e. the 13th round of talks between the Corps commanders of the two countries there was no tangible headway towards the resolution of the issues.

China claimed that India had unreasonable and unrealistic demands. Consequently, the negotiations were not successful. China is resolved to protect its national sovereignty.
