Pakistan's 116th NMC Batch Officers visit New York

New York, 23 August 2022 (TDI): The 116th Batch of National Management Course (NMC) during their Foreign Study Tour, visited New York. On Monday, the delegation of senior officers and faculty landed in New York City.

Visit to Consulate General Office

During their trip to New York, the delegation also visited the office of the Consulate General of Pakistan in New York. The Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Ayesha Ali, briefed the delegation on different topics.

The Consul General explained the different initiatives for community outreach started by the Consulate General of Pakistan.

Correspondingly, the officers also engaged with the Consul General in a constructive discussion followed by a question and answers session.

116th Batch of NMC

The 116th Batch of NMC studied at the National Management College under the National School of Public Policy (NSPP), Pakistan.

They ended their course on the 12th of August, 2022, and are now on a Foreign Study Tour. The Tour will help them gain experience through on-site learning.

NSPP is the premier institution for the training and capacity building of senior ranking civil servants in Pakistan. It aims at building their capacity for undertaking tasks of policy formulation and implementation at tactical, operational, and strategic levels.

The overarching aim of the NSPP is to improve the quality and effectiveness of public policies and management in Pakistan. It fulfills this goal by improving the quality of pre-service and in-service training and education of all those engaged in Public service.

Correspondingly, the Grade-20 officers attend the strategic policy level course, National Management Course (NMC), at the National Management Wing of the National Management College.

This progressive training structure grants opportunities to trainees to gradually develop their strategic level capabilities.

Pakistan in New York

The Pakistani community in New York City is the 4th largest community living in New York. In recent years, the Pakistani community has become more vocal with their increasing roles in the government and governance of New York.

Recently, Pakistan celebrated its 75th Independence Day in New York with pride. Correspondingly, the Mayor himself hosted the Pakistani flag at the Bowling Green.

Additionally, the Brooklyn Detective, Rohail Khalid of Pakistani American Law Enforcement Society also held a flag hoisting ceremony at Coney Island Avenue.

Pakistan-US Relations
Pakistan and US have enjoyed years of good bilateral relations. The US has always stood by Pakistan during its challenging times. Moreover, during the COVID-19 pandemic, it aided Pakistan with about 77 million worth of vaccines to Pakistan.
Correspondingly, Pakistan celebrated the 75th anniversary of its bilateral relations with the US. The celebration was observed alongside Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day celebrations on 14 August.
Moreover, it has donated about $100 000 to the flood victims in Pakistan under USAID. The funds will be used to help Pakistan deal with the crisis of ongoing floods.
