Islamabad, 14 August 2022 (TDI): Pakistan and the United States marked 75 years of diplomatic relations on Sunday. From 1947 to 2022, Pakistan and the United States have enjoyed a unique and strong relationship with each other.
Pakistan US Relations
The United States and Pakistan celebrated 75 years of bilateral relations on 14 august 2022. The United States has supported Pakistan whenever it faced challenging times. Bilateral trade between the two states reached $9 Billion in 2021.
Moreover, the United States is Pakistan’s largest export market. It is estimated that the US investment in Pakistan has grown by 50% since last year. The US also hosts thousands of Pakistani students and workers in its educational institutes and companies, respectively.
The Secretary of State of the US, Antony J. Blinken also congratulated Pakistan and US on celebrating 75 years of bilateral relations.
On the occasion, he highlighted the increasing trade and strengthening bonds between the two nations. He affirmed that the US will continue to stand by Pakistan’s side in the future.
Likewise, the US Embassy in Pakistan also posted a special message on Twitter. In the message, the Embassy in Pakistan congratulated Pakistan by highlighting the strong bond between the two nations.

It highlighted this special bond by featuring pictures from the past as well as the present that depicts how Pakistan and US have always stood together.
Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day
On 14 August 2022, Pakistan also celebrated its 75th Independence Day. The day commemorates the memory of 14 August 1947 when Pakistan got independence from British colonialism.
As a result of this, the Indian subcontinent was divided into two nations, India and Pakistan. Consequently, Pakistan celebrated its Independence Day on Sunday.
The day also marked the inauguration of Pakistan’s bilateral relations with a number of states like the USA and Canada.

Message from Ambassador to Pakistan
The Ambassador of the US to Pakistan, David Blome congratulated Pakistan on its 75th Independence Day. A cake-cutting scene was also observed by the Ambassador along with consulate staff in Karachi. The team also sang the national songs of Pakistan.

Ambassador David also uploaded a video message to congratulate the people of Pakistan. In the video message, David Blome highlighted how US has helped Pakistan in developing its different sectors.
He also emphasized the 77 million vaccine doses donated by the US to Pakistan during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Consequently, he affirmed that the US will continue to help Pakistan in tackling its problems. Moreover, he hoped that Pakistan and US continue to strengthen their bonds in the future too.

The message became more special for the people of Pakistan when Ambassador Blome ended his remarks by wishing Pakistan a happy Independence Day in the national language of Pakistan, Urdu.
