10th meeting of China-Africa think tanks commences in Hangzhou

Hangzhou, 21 October 2021 (TDI): The 10th meeting of the China-Africa think tanks has started in Hangzhou, yesterday.

15 African countries are participating in this China-Africa think tanks summit. More than 200 representatives from those 15 African countries will discuss the global issues with the Chinese think tanks.

They will emphasize cooperation in urban areas. Covid19 will be also discussed as the world has not recovered from it yet. They will also discuss digital development which has become an important paradigm of cooperation in the world.
The China-Africa think tank forum works under the framework of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). The think tanks forum aims to strengthen the cooperation between China and Africa. It will help to form a China-Africa community that will have a shared future.
Assistant Foreign Minister of China Deng Li emphasized the importance of the think tanks forum in the opening ceremony. He stated that the cooperation between the China-Africa community in the fight against Coronavirus underlines the cooperation of China-Africa.

China is planning to work with African partners on vaccine cooperation, economic recovery and infrastructure development to create new channels for cooperation.

Today, on the second day of the meeting, the Chinese-African think tanks will discuss promoting China-Africa unity in the pandemic fight, BRI in Africa leading to urban development in African cities and towns, and the new plan of FOCAC to shape a shared future of China-Africa community.
