Tokyo – 26 July 2021 (TDI): On the 4th day of Tokyo Summer Olympic Games 2021 outstanding weightlifter Zulfiya Chinshanlo won Kazakhstan’s third bronze medal.
Zulfiya Chinshanlo won bronze in the Women 55kg weight category by lifting 213 kg (90 kg in snatch and 123 kg in clean and jerk). Hidilyn Diaz of the Philippines won gold after lifting a total of 224 kg. Liao Qiuyun of China won silver (223 kg). This is Kazakhstan’s third bronze medal in the current Tokyo Olympics and the country’s second bronze in weightlifting. Kazakhstani judoka Yeldos Smetov and weightlifter Igor Son had previously won bronze.
Kazakhstan, together with Germany, is ranked 40th in the total medal tally from the Tokyo Olympics.
