Islamabad (TDI): Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk on Thursday called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr, state-run *APP* reported.
The two dignitaries reaffirmed their commitment to expanding trade and economic ties and emphasized enhancing regional connectivity to strengthen their bilateral relations.
The two sides discussed cooperation in key areas like agriculture, food security, business, education, railways, and science and technology came under discussion.

President Zardari welcomed the Russian deputy prime minister called for enhancing barter trade, and underlined the importance of improving connectivity to boost economic ties.
The president said both countries should ease visa regulations in order to increase connectivity through railways and direct flights. He said this would enhance people-to-people and business-to-business contacts.
He also highlighted that a 75-member Pakistani business delegation would visit Russia in October to explore business and economic cooperation.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Overchuk said Russia is eager to improve cooperation with Pakistan in areas such as food security, science and technology, education, connectivity, and railways.

Overchuk mentioned that the Russian Prime Minister’s visit to Pakistan in October would further strengthen bilateral ties. He also expressed Russia’s respect for all religions and Muslim culture. He condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and several other ministers and senior officials were present during the meeting.
