YouTube’s Allows Ads to Play During Pauses

-

New York (TDI): YouTube displays longer and skippable ads to users. Now the users will not be able to escape, not even by halting their screen.

On Thursday, the Google-owned platform announced that Pause advertisements have been “widely rolled out to all advertisers.”

According to posts on social media, an advertisement will appear on the side of the screen when the movie is paused.

For viewers, this is easy and gives them more brand information. According to a Google representative, “it’s been a positive update for the whole YouTube ecosystem and one of the components of the modern CTV ads experience.”

First to report on the development was The Verge. Despite YouTube’s claim that the change makes for a less disruptive viewing experience for consumers, social media users lamented the inclusion of yet more intrusive advertisement on the network.

With a YouTube premium subscription, which normally costs $13.99 a month for an individual, users can, of course, completely avoid advertisements.

During an Alphabet earnings call, Google’s Philipp Schindler, an executive in charge of sales for both Google and YouTube, stated that the business “saw strong traction” when it introduced the pilot stop advertisements in 2023 on TVs that link to the internet to broadcast videos.

The organization claimed that the pause advertising were profitable, without providing any precise financial details.

As to Schindler’s statement during the April conference, “Preliminary findings indicate that pause ads are producing significant brand lift outcomes and are demanding premium pricing from advertisers.”
